Barbara Riley lives in Horopito in a cottage full of character, an old mill building over 100 years old.

My interest in art started when I was at school. My art teacher said “Tries hard but no talent”.
When my children were young I took a course in drawing and was hooked.
Sketching on and off over the years I promised myself I would do more when I had time.

When I came to the Waimarino I met Dot Barnes and the journey began. With Dot's guidance and encouragement here I am today.

I work in acrylic, pastels and pencil, my inspiration comes from whatever touches my heart.

I have entered a few times in the Waimarino Art Awards and the Journey exhibition in Ohakune.
