I live in the Makakahi Valley, Raetihi on a farm with my partner Neil where a lot of my inspiration comes from my environment and farming life.

I have four fab kids and an ever increasing number of grands.

As a keen gardener I have a wilderness garden where I entice native birds which I then photograph.

I studied commercial photography at UCOL in Palmerston North in 2000 and have since had exhibitions, photographed commercially, joined the Whanganui Camera Club and entered many competitions.
As a member of The Photographic Society of NZ I have gained an associateship in 2008 with a set of images taken in a shearing shed.
In 2012 I won the Jeff Moon trophy for nature projected image with a Bush Robin image.

I opened The Barbed Wire Gallery in Raetihi and love the art it exposes me to, the artists and art appreciators that I get to meet. I love Raetihi as a place as natural as you can find with great light, interesting people, fantastic wilderness and horses in the main street.

Lately I have joined with Sarah Proude and we photograph as Sarah Leonie Photography.
We love combining our talents to photograph weddings, portraits and any job that comes our way.

I am totally passionate about photography, am always chasing that elusive perfect shot and rarely go anywhere without my camera.
